Sargood on Collaroy

We are proud to be a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) registered provider of Short Term Accommodation and Assistance.

If you are an NDIS participant, you may be able to request funding assistance to stay at Sargood on Collaroy for one of our Wellness Packages.

Sargood on Collaroy provides Short Term Accommodation and Assistance. We have three inclusive Wellness Packages providing short-term accommodation and high intensity assistance, as well as negotiated activities.

Funding assistance from the NDIS may also be available to cover extra costs beyond our package inclusions, such as extra therapy or training with our staff and extra hours of assistance with self-care activities.

As everyone’s circumstances are different we encourage you to speak with your Local Area Coordinator or Support Coordinator to discuss what may be covered for you by the NDIS.

Out of pocket expenses
There may be some out of pocket costs during your stay. You will need to cover the cost of all meals and incidentals. Any activities, courses and events where the cost is not covered by the Wellness Package will need to be paid for by you. These costs will be provided to you clearly when making a booking.

Sargood on Collaroy

Your stay at Sargood on Collaroy will be funded by icare through one of the following:

  • Lifetime Care and Support Scheme: Providing treatment, rehabilitation and care for people who are severely injured in a motor accident in NSW.
  • Workers Care Program: Providing treatment, rehabilitation and care for those severely injured in a NSW workplace.

What do you need to do?

  • Ask your case manager or icare contact if a stay at Sargood on Collaroy can be included in your 'My Plan' (you can apply for up to 28 nights per year in a single approval).
  • Discuss with your case manager or icare contact what Wellness Package you require for your stay at Sargood.
  • Once you have approval from icare, you will receive an Approval Letter which you will be required to provide when making a booking with us.

Funding of additional services

If you are seeking services from Sargood that are not included in our Wellness Packages (e.g. exercise physiology/physiotherapy), you’ll need to speak with your icare contact to determine whether this is something icare will fund for you. If icare decide to fund these additional services, you will then be issued with a separate approval.

Inpatient Stay.

If you do not have access to insurance or are currently waiting for NDIS plans to be approved, Royal Rehab is offering a 2 night fully funded stay for inpatients on the Prince of Wales, Royal North Shore or Royal Rehab spinal cord injury units.

Whether you are an inpatient on the Prince of Wales, Royal North Shore or Royal Rehab spinal injury units, we recognise the challenges associated with long hospital stays. We see undeniable benefits for individuals and families who are given the opportunity to spend time away from the hospital to recover and reconnect in a different environment.

What you need to do?

  • Simply inform your team at the SIU that you would like to stay at Sargood, mentioning your preferred dates.
  • Request your team to review your medical clearance and weekend leave approval to ensure you are safe and able to leave the SIU.
  • Book your stay via the Sargood Booking Form and select "Inpatient Intro Stay Grant" when prompted.

Please note: Each spinal injury unit has a different policy about weekend leave. Generally, hospitals will only allow between 1-3 nights leave while you are an inpatient.

Sargood on Collaroy

Sargood Foundation.

The Sargood Foundation may provide funding assistance if you are not covered by (or not covered sufficiently by) insurance, and do not have the financial means to fund a stay.

  • You are an Australian citizen or permanent resident with a spinal cord injury.
  • You are over the age of 65 and not eligible for NDIS funding (or have insufficient funding in your plan)

How do I apply for a sponsored stay?

As part of the Booking Enquiry Form you will be asked how you will be funding your stay. Please select that you would like to apply for financial assistance through the Sargood Foundation.

You will then be asked four questions about your stay:

  1. Why are you applying for financial assistance?
