Royal Rehab LifeWorks Advanced Technology Program

We’re excited to be teaming up with the team at Royal Rehab to deliver a 2 week advance tech program - stay at Sargood on Collaroy and receive daily therapy at the state-of-the-art therapy centre in Ryde.

Regular physical activity after sustaining a spinal cord injury can help improve independence, decrease pain, promote neural regeneration, and reduce the risk of secondary complications. During this course you will be exposed to a variety of modalities that will help you to achieve and maintain optimal physical and mental health and independence.

Royal Rehab LifeWorks offer an extensive selection of more than 25 cutting-edge technology devices, like robotic exoskeletons and virtual reality tools.

Their aim is to combine these innovative products with traditional therapies, when suitable, to help you achieve your full potential and attain the best possible results.

As a participant you will receive 2-hour sessions with your therapist Monday – Friday delivered in the Royal Rehab Advanced Technology Centre. You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in Sargood on Collaroy’s Activities Program on weekends.

The course will take place at Royal Rehab Lifeworks purpose-built advanced technology centre in Ryde.

Some of the available equipment includes:

EksoNR is a robotic exoskeleton designed to improve mobility. Depending on your condition, it can help you relearn to stand and walk. Unlike other exoskeletons that provide 100% power to walk, EksoNR requires your active participation to help teach your brain and muscles how to move and walk again. What’s more, it provides your physiotherapist with real-time data so they can measure your progress and adjust your program to achieve your goals. With EksoNR, you are an active participant in your recovery.

Specifically for people with neurological conditions like stroke, traumatic brain injury or spinal cord injury, Lokomat® helps with gait and walking. Audio and visual feedback and music synced with therapy boosts motivation and personalises your training sessions to make them both beneficial and enjoyable.

MYRO is a groundbreaking device designed to help you improve the use of your arms and hands. It offers therapy that is focused on your goals and is easy to use. With MYRO, your rehabilitation becomes highly personalised and adaptable to your needs.

The immersive and therapeutic potential of virtual reality, can make your journey towards recovery more enjoyable, effective, and rewarding. Discover a new world of possibilities for your physical and mental wellbeing through our diverse range of VR therapy experiences.

The ZeroG® Gait and Balance System helps protect from falls while providing body-weight support so that you can focus on walking, balancing tasks, sit-to-stand manoeuvres and even climbing stairs in a safe and controlled environment. It can be suitable for people who have had a stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, amputees or orthopaedic injury.
